Merit Brass celebrating 75 years 2012 marks Merit Brass' 75th year in business. The venerable Clevelandbased stainless-steel, brass, chrome and aluminum nipple manufacturer and master distributor of stainless-steel and brass PVF maintains its focus on continuously improving its products and services to make the Merit Experience© even better for its customers. Recent improvements include Merit's expanded geographical footprint, product line enhancements and additions, and expanded technologies. Merit team members continue to challenge themselves to improve in order to optimize their effectiveness within the company and within the PVF industry. In 2011, Merit opened a new 33,000-sq.- ft.Distribution center in Birmingham, Ala. As in Sparks and Dallas, Birmingham also maintains an on-location inside sales representative, Luke Webb. In August, Merit will be moving its Dallas distribution center down the road from 10705 King William Drive to 10614 King William Drive. Its new facility is more than 40,000 sq. ft., which is 45% larger than the current facility.This new DC is armed with an overhead crane to process pipe orders and receive incoming material more expeditiously. Merit regularly reviews products it feels will round out its package or enhance opportunities within the market. During the second half of 2011, Merit added: A105-N forged carbon steel fittings and outlets; Stainless-steel 3000# outlets and larger diameter 3000# fittings; Stainless-steel PTFE nickel-coated thread tape; and In 2012 , Merit added two-pie ce flanged-end 150# and 300# ball valves to its stainless-steel valve offering. "The constant evaluation of new products enables Merit to not only identify opportunities for growth, but opportunities for our customers to bundle for full freight allowance and increase their presence within their respective markets," Merit Corporate Sales and Product Manager Steve Evans says.
