Legend Valve strategizes with rep advisory council As part of its Downstream Thinking platform, Legend hosted its most recent Representative Advisory Council meeting Aug. 14- 15, at its new corporate headquarters in Auburn Hills, Mich. Over the course of two days, this hand-picked group of industry veterans provided valuable feedback to the Legend executive team regarding strategic initiatives for the next five years. Football legend Bradshaw partners with Ferguson Ferguson recently announced a new partnership with football legend Terry Bradshaw, the Emmy awardwinning co-host of Fox NFL Sunday.Bradshaw will serve as the spokesperson for Ferguson’s contractor business, which consists of commercial and residential plumbers, HVAC contractors, waterworks contractors, as well as builders and remodelers. The partnership will kick off with the launch of Ferguson PRO Plus, a new rewards offering for Ferguson’s customer loyalty program. In addition to receiving discounts and special offers on business products and services, customers enrolled in Ferguson PRO Plus can now earn points for their purchases made on Ferguson Online, the company’s transactional e-commerce and account management portal site for trade customers. Murray Supply teams with Habitat for Humanity Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Murray Supply Co., recently volunteered with a group of eight sales associates from its Charlotte branch to complete the weatherization of a Habitat for Humanity house. The Charlotte group worked with other volunteers to strip the house down to the drywall and cement floor. Siding also was removed from the outside of the 20-year-old house, which had been vacant for three years.The Charlotte group completed 40 hours of volunteer work to ensure a future Habitat family would have a safe and affordable house to live in. PEOPLE ON THE MOVE Jeff MacDowell was hired as APR Supply Co.’s new director of purchasing. Previously, MacDowell was a profit center manager with Weinstein Supply, a division of Hajoca Corp. Bradford White recently announced the promotions of Matthew Kozak and Robert G. McKenney. Kozak has been promoted to the position of director of sales-East, while McKenney has been promoted to director of sales-West. Tom Meyer has been appointed to RPA’s Board of Directors as the chairman of RPA’s Codes and Standards Committee. Boshart Industries named Arch Mulder senior vice president of operations and IT, Julie Storey senior vice president of sales & marketing and Joel Phelan senior purchasing manager. HARDI hired Brian Loftus as market research and benchmarking analyst and also announced the addition of Kelly Kantor as manager of marketing. FOR THE RECORD ACQUISITIONS... Charles D. Jones & Co., recently acquired Empire Gas & Electric Equipment Co., based out Denver and Ft. Collins, Colo.Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning recently acquired Jones Heating & Air Co., a long-time member of the Morristown, Tenn., business community. EXPANSIONS... Innovative Stone, the flagship of Innovative Global Brands, announced the opening of a new sales office in Chicago. The Chicago office will be headed by Bryan Olson and John Gordon. Johnstone Supply hosts congressman Easton, Pa.-based Johnstone Supply recently hosted Congressman Charles Dent during a visit at its regional distribution center in Allentown, Pa. Dent met with Easton-area Johnstone owner Tom Wallace, members of his management team, CEO DeWight Wallace and HARDI Director of Government Affairs Jon Melchi. Key points addressed with the congressman included the need for tax and entitlement reform, the potential repeal of the estate tax, preservation of LIFO, and the need to reform the regulatory process in Washington. Dent was particularly interested in ongoing rulemakings concerning regional standards and R-22 allocation.
