AFE Debuts First Global Office Website If you haven’t experienced AFE online recently, I suggest you consider going straight to our new interactive and dynamic website — interactive for our members, globally dynamic for all. AFE has developed its first global office destination located within our website thanks to input from our professional development team, working in conjunction with our committee of representatives. Our website has been designed to supply our leadership, regions and members with the necessary tools to be successful. In addition, it simultaneously provides our corporate partners with their own autonomous landing page complete with client-only exclusive passwords for them to use. In order to make this new virtual office accessible from anywhere, AFE knew it had to reach the new generation of facilities management and engineering professionals who rely on their smart phones to get the information they need. We realized we needed to provide our users with answers to their questions online and give them access to our website via a variety of mobile technologies. Presenting a new mobile-optimized navigation to offer our mobile-user specific features is now a reality, and accessibility to our site will be increased in the weeks and months to come. Potomac Digitek (PODI), a leader in mobile-optimized navigation technology, has been our website provider for years. Thanks to their efforts, a mobileoptimized navigation technology. A mobile-friendly interface featuring key elements of our full website is now a reality. The days of trying to shrink a website to fit into the screen of a small smart phone — while using a magnifying glass to read the fine print — is now a thing of the past. Our Latest Partnership AFE has been busy updating the tools of our craft, while making sure these online tools are accessible to our global technical and corporate partners. We look forward to our newest partnership with the Illinois Association of School Business Officials (ASBO). This association is devoted to the school business management profession. With about 19 regions throughout Illinois, AFE has recently certified ASBO to teach our Certified Plant Maintenance Manager (CPMM) and Certified Plant Supervisor (CPS) programs. Soon, we will be providing ASBO with its own AFE website landing page where its members will be able to access a variety of calculators, white papers and more. These are very exciting times for professional maintenance and energy efficiency in Illinois school system facilities. Larry Ross, CPE, CPMM President & Chairman
