Hajoca Northeast hosts vendor summit The recently formed Hajoca Corp. Northeast Division hosted its bi-annual vendor summit at The Hotel Hershey in Hershey, Pa. The summit, which brought together vendors, Hajoca profit center managers and management trainees, is designed to grow relationships and improve business practices and is the first of its kind for Hajoca’s Northeast Division. More than 120 industry professionals representing 20 vendors and the division’s 61 Hajoca locations participated in the event. Hajoca Northeast Division Manager Jock Castoldi, Northeast Region Manager Paul Weinstein and Director of Vendor Relations Roy Pitts hosted the summit meeting. Throughout the week, vendor representatives and Hajoca profit center managers participated in 45-minute roundtable discussions. A variety of social outings (golf, trap shooting and biking) also were held. “The event was a terrific gathering of vendors and Hajoca personnel in an environment that allowed us to conduct candid discussions around opportunities and challenges in the market, paired with social opportunities to network,” saidMatt McLaughlin, Hajoca account manager for Rheem. To continue to foster the relationships, communication, and momentum built at the summit, organizers plan to host a similar meeting in 2016. The Granite Group opens 29th branch Concord, N.H.-based The Granite Group announced it will be opening the company’s 29th branch location. The new 11,600-sq.-ft. branch in Auburn, Maine, is expected to be open for business by Sept. 1. The new location is the second The Granite Group branch opened in the last 12 months. Recently announced it is acquiring W. G. Balph Co., a plumbing, heating and HVAC distributor founded in 1926. Balph Co. Operates out of locations in Pittsburgh and Greensburg, Pa. The two Balph locations will eventually be supplemented by two additional APR locations in the Pittsburgh market thanks to APR’s joint-venture relationship with Schaedler Yesco, a distributor of electrical supplies and equipment. The two companies currently share 10 branch locations. APR recently was named one of the 50 fastest-growing companies in central Pennsylvania. Ward Mfg. Hosts sales and marketing meeting Ward Mfg., recently held its annual North American sales and marketing meeting in The Woodlands, Texas. More than 100 members of the Ward team were on hand. Ward President Pete Guidi and Vice President of Sales & Marketing Tony Favilla announced that Plymouth, Minn.- based Bennerotte Marketing Agency was named Ward’s 2013 manufacturers representative of the year. Industrial Valco hires new sales vice president Master distributor Industrial Valco appointed Matt Arellano vice president of sales and marketing, effective immediately. Arellano is a graduate of California State University Long Beach and has a background in marketing, program management, financial planning, and mergers and acquisitions.
