Liberty Supply and All-Tex Pipe & Supply received awards for greatest overall growth; MKS Pipe & Valve Co. And Louis P. Canuso for greatest participation growth; Cooney Brothers and Mechanical Supply Co., for conversion. In addition, Ernie Coutermarsh, F. W. Monumental Supply Celebrates 60 Years Baltimore’s Monumental Supply Co. Marked its 60th Anniversary with a celebration at company headquarters on May 21 that drew more than 300 customers and vendors, along with some 70 employees. Headed by President Ed Zimmerman, Monumental is a PVF distributor primarily to mechanical contractors in the Mid-Atlantic region. They also have an Elevator Supply business and new Fire Protection Division. Valve Makers Predict Growth The industrial valve industry appears to have stabilized and will probably see some minor growth this year, according to an annual forecast of valve shipments in the U. S. and Canada by the Valve Manufacturers Association. While the industry declined last year for the fi rst time in a decade, the drop was only 5%, which compared to some other industries, was not severe. For 2010, the forecast is for shipments to be $3.855 billion, which is higher than last year’s $3.802 billion. Projected orders for 2010 will be about 1.4% over 2009, with the largest growth occurring in the chemical industry. Leones Donate $5 Million To Penn State John and Willie Leone have committed to endow the Department of Energy and Mineral Engineering in Penn State’s College of Earth and Mineral Sciences with a leadership gift of $5 million. The University will name the department in recognition of the couple’s generosity. John Leone is president and CEO of Bonney Forge, who graduated in 1956 from Penn State’s petroleum and natural gas engineering program. Willie Leone is a former professional ice skater. The Leones have a long history of supporting Penn State.
