MRC GLOBAL RENEWS DVP MIDSTREAM AGREEMENT MRC Global has renewed a five-year contract to supply pipe, valves and fittings products and services to DCP Midstream, LP. The five-year contract includes maintenance, repair and operations and project work. “We have enjoyed a close, successful relationship with DCP and its heritage companies for more than 20 years,” said Andrew Lane, MRC Global president and CEO. “Our product expertise, extensive inventory and location footprint in the Permian Basin and DJ Basins especially, all are key reasons we are able to continue to support DCP’s PVF supply-chain goals. We look forward to another five years working closely together.” MRC Global supports DCP’s day-to-day and project PVF needs from more than 30 service locations throughout North America in addition to multiple consignment stores onsite at DCP locations. METALS MOMENTUM CONTINUES IN UNITED STATES From Metals Service Center Institute, November shipments increased at high rates for steel and aluminum in the U.S., but declined for aluminum products and stayed flat for steel in Canada. MSCI reports U.S. service center steel shipments in November increased 6.8% from November 2016. Steel product inventories increased 7.9% from November a year ago. U.S. service center shipments of aluminum products in November increased by 12% from the same timeframe in 2016, MSCI reports. Inventories of aluminum products increased 3.4% from November 2016. Canadian service center shipments of steel products in November 2017 increased by 0.2% from November 2016, MSCI reports. Steel product inventories increased 4.3% from November a year ago. Canadian service center aluminum shipments in November decreased 4.2% from the same month in 2016. Inventories of aluminum products increased 1.3% from November a year ago. FAIRMONT SUPPLY ACQUIRES MORE LOCATIONS Washington, Pennsylvania-based Fairmont Supply Co., one of the largest distributors of industrial maintenance, repair and operation supplies in the United States, announced THB, Inc., of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Boise, Idaho, has joined the Fairmont Supply family of companies. With this new branch, Fortiline now has 50 distribution branches in 13 states. The new branch is located at 104 Investment Lane, Summerdale, AL 36580. This is Fortiline’s only branch in Alabama and the company’s first branch opening of 2018. “This new branch allows Fortiline to expand its coverage and customer base throughout southern Alabama,” said Ben Cagle, senior vice president of operations for Fortiline. “We will provide Fortiline expertise in a number of areas there, including our HDPE fusion capabilities and wide range of McElroy fusion equipment.” In 2017 Fortiline opened six new branches, including locations in Winter Garden, Florida; Mesa and Peoria, Arizona; and Austin and Helotes, Texas. “We continue to look for ways to increase market share and expand our presence throughout the United States,” said Kevin Jehl, Fortiline vice president of national accounts and marketing. “Opening this location in Summerdale reinforces our commitment to controlled, targeted expansion that meets the needs of our client base.”
