advertorial AFFRI Inc. T h AFFRI magnetic portable hardness tester solves he all types of problems. It can be used as a conventional a hardness tester, including conformance to any stan-h dard, or as a portable system for on-site testing when d test pieces are too large or too heavy for a bench hardness tester. tt i AFFRI’s state-of-the-art technology permits different tests at different load forces. The load cell inside has no impact force, while the AFFRI vertical movement permits a fully automatic test cycle. It conforms to all Rockwell and Brinell hardness standard methods. The standardized high pressure on the indenter creates depth indentations on the surface, thus eliminating the need for special surface preparation. Follow the Profi le of the Test Sample The AFFRI vertical stroke system of the measuring head (2 inches) follows the profi le of the test sample and assures a very accurate and absolute measurement even when the sample retracts during the test cycle. The original AFFRI patented system has been designed and studied by engineers, who have been creating the state of the art in hardness testing systems for more than 55 years. The AFFRI RS-MAG is completely uninfl uenced by direction so that it is operative up to 360 degrees of positioning. It is not af-fected by any external source of vibration, and it does not need to be leveled. On digital mode, the internal battery assures 20 hours of operation. The AFFRI system protects the indenter by accidental shock before and during testing, thus increasing the life of the indenter, especially for diamond cone 120° Rockwell C test. Easy to Operate The system is easy to manipulate. Pull one single start lever and the measurement will appear in a few seconds. There is no motor inside, but it’s a totally automatic system. It is so simple to use that there is no need for any particular prep-aration by the operator. Identify the test area, place the hardness tester on the test sample and then lock the magnetic lever. The tester will strongly adhere to the test piece and remain clamped for the entire test cycle. Pull the single start lever for a few seconds and the head moves down dynamically until it makes contact with the test surface and generates the measurement cycle. The result will appear on the display scale or dial gauge in four seconds. Standard accessories include: magnetic clamping system, clamping piece, protective cup for indenter, lever for automatic test cycle and direct readout scale. AFFRI Inc.
